Welcome to Special Collections

J. Murrey Atkins Library Special Collections is dedicated to preserving and sharing the past. Our Rare Book, Manuscript, University Archives, Oral History, and Local Documents collections enhance research at all levels.

Through collection and collaboration, Special Collections connects communities and individuals, today and in years to come, to the documentary, photographic, and audio/visual history of the greater Charlotte region and of UNC Charlotte.

We are open to researchers and to the public Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm.

The Mary & Harry L. Dalton Rare Book & Manuscript Reading Room is on the 10th Floor of the J. Murrey Atkins Library.
