General Information

As a unit of the Atkins Library Special Collections, the University Archives has two functions:

  1. To identify, acquire, and preserve the historical record of the UNC Charlotte and its predecessors.
  2. To operate a Records Management Program that assists the University in the proper retention, disposition, and security of its records.

Historical university records are made available to researchers through the Special Collections Dalton Reading Room on the 10th floor of the Library tower. Regular reading room hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Information on the Records Management Program may be obtained by contacting the University Archivist, Madeleine Bagwell Perez.
